    The Greater Independence Park Neighborhood Association, GIPNA, is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life in the Independence Park community by involving, informing and encouraging people to participate in matters relating to the community, and by protecting the historical, social, cultural, and architectural character of the neighborhood.

    Chicago Symphony Orchestra​​​​​​​

    Founded in 1891, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is consistently hailed as one of the greatest orchestras in the world. In collaboration with the best conductors and guest artists on the international music scene, the CSO performs well over one hundred concerts each year at its downtown home, Symphony Center and at the Ravinia Festival on Chicago’s North Shore.

  • Communities in Schools in Chicago

    Communities In Schools of Chicago (CISC) supports Murphy school by connecting organizations in Chicago to the school. The areas of priority for Murphy are Fine Arts opportunities (museum, performance, visiting artists), Health (drug and alcohol prevention, safety, nutrition, wellness, sexual and reproductive health), Career and College Readiness, and Social Emotional (anti-bullying, empathy building, understanding of GLBTQ concerns and support). 100% of our students were supported through these connections last year from pre-K to grade 8.

  • The Kedzie Center

    The Kedzie Center​​​​​​​

    Though a brand-new organization, Murphy has already build a strong relationship with the Kedzie Center, a hyper-local mental health center in our neighborhood. In their own words, they “provide individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric consultation, and guidance in identifying and accessing community resources; services are provided in both English and Spanish and are available to children, adolescents and adults.” They also provide parenting classes and trainings, like the “Trauma & Recovery” and “Avoiding Professional Burnout” sessions that they presented to our staff.

  • Girls in the Game

    Murphy has partnered with Girls In The Game (GITG) for over 10 years, who “provides and promotes sports and fitness opportunities, nutrition and health education, and leadership development to enhance the overall health and well-being of girls.”

    Ravinia’s education and community partnership programs connect music to the Murphy Community through multi-tiered initiatives including teaming working musicians with teachers to integrate music into our fine arts curricula.
